MSC Giz Cast Episode 9 Customization Part 3

In this episode we are going to continue our discussion on customizing or desktop. We will take a look at changing or themes in Ubuntu which will include changing our folder appearance, window borders, and also application borders.
First off though we are going start this episode talking about a couple of news events and also a couple of things I have came across on the net this past week. This will include:

Dell offering Ubuntu on their desktops. This is great news not only for the Linux community, but also the consumers as this gives them one more choice on the type of OS they can use.
The rumor of yahoo and Microsoft has surfaced again. Although many predict that this will never happen it will be an interesting story to follow. I am sure Google will be.
Also we will look at some screen shots fom a Linux desktop taken in 1998
Finally we will view a video of a very smart bird

In the rest of the episode we are going to take a look at yet another way to customize our Ubuntu desktop with themes which will change our folder application icons, and border windows.There are a couple of different ways for us to do this. First we can use the themes that come bundled with our Ubuntu install. Though there are a limited amount of themes to choose from we can still change our folder icons and window borders to change the look and feel of desktop and applications.
Another option we have is to use Gnome Art which will give us a wide variety of choices in wall paper, folder and application icons, and also window and application borders. Though there are other sites that will assist us in our customization I find that Gnome Art has a great variety of themes to choose from.
