MSC Giz Cast Episode 18-WUBI

In episode 18 we take a look at a program called WUBI. This is a Windows program that makes it easy to both install and uninstall Ubuntu. WUBI is a Windows installer that will put Ubuntu on your computer, while still keeping your Windows OS and doing most of the work for you. Once the installer is started you are asked a few questions about what version of Ubuntu you would like to use, the size of the partition and also a password, which you will need to log in to Ubuntu and also to install programs.
This is a easy way to put Ubuntu on your computer as a dual boot to test it with hardware and to see how you like the OS instead of running it off of a "live cd". Unlike using a live cd, you will be able to download programs and also save documents. Though Ubuntu will run faster this way then off of a live cd, it is still running on a virtual disk and you will not get the full feel of how fast the OS will be. It is my opinion that once you have tried Ubuntu this way for a bit and are comfortable with the OS, you should still download the install CD from the Ubuntu site and install the OS so it is running on its own partition.
