In episode 18 we take a look at a program called WUBI. This is a Windows program that makes it easy to both install and uninstall Ubuntu. WUBI is a Windows installer that will put Ubuntu on your computer, while still keeping your Windows OS and doing most of the work for you. Once the installer is started you are asked a few questions about what version of Ubuntu you would like to use, the size of the partition and also a password, which you will need to log in to Ubuntu and also to install programs.
This is a easy way to put Ubuntu on your computer as a dual boot to test it with hardware and to see how you like the OS instead of running it off of a "live cd". Unlike using a live cd, you will be able to download programs and also save documents. Though Ubuntu will run faster this way then off of a live cd, it is still running on a virtual disk and you will not get the full feel of how fast the OS will be. It is my opinion that once you have tried Ubuntu this way for a bit and are comfortable with the OS, you should still download the install CD from the Ubuntu site and install the OS so it is running on its own partition.

MSC Giz Cast Episode 17-I Pod Support
In this episode we discuss what programs that are available in Ubuntu to manage our music on an I-Pod. Though there are a few different ones, we discuss primarily Rhythmbox and Amarok.
Both programs have their advantages and disadvantages though Rythmbox has some bugs that have become apparent in the last few months.

Both programs have their advantages and disadvantages though Rythmbox has some bugs that have become apparent in the last few months.
- Amarok is a KDE program, but runs perfectly in Ubuntu. It is a full featured music player to handle your entire music collection. It can add and delete music from your player and also any other audio, like Podcasts. If you do use Amarok for your Podcasts it will put those audio files in the Podcast menu of your Ipod unlike Rythmbox or GTKPod.
- GTKPod is also a alternative to managing your I-Pod though it does not watch your music folder for changes so you have to manually add any new music.
- Rythmbox has a great drag and drop feature to add music to your player, but it does not delete music from your player, so you have to use a program like GTKPod to do this. Though I have used Rythmbox in the past and it has sent my deleted music to the trash, it has not done this since upgrading to Feisty. Hopefully this is something that will be addressed in Gutsy Gibbons due out in October of this year.

MSC Giz Cast Episode 16- Digikam and DeVeDE
In this episode we talk a bit more about using Digikam to create a video disk of our pictures that can be played in a DVD player. In episode 15 we talked about using Digikam to create a video CD that can play in a DVD player. In episode 16 we use both Digikam and a program called DeVeDe to create a DVD that we can play in any player. A video CD works fine unless you are creating a file that is larger than 700MB which is the maximum size for a CD disk. A DVD disk can hold up to 4.7 GB. To create a DVD disk that will play in any DVD player we must convert the file, that we have created with Digikam, to VOB files and than burn them to a DVD.
Once we have created our file of our pictures with Digikam we can convert them with a program called DeVeDe which can be found in either the repositories under synaptic or we can also find it in the "Add Remove" section of our top menu bar applications. DeVeDe will create a .iso image of our DVD file which we can either burn with K3B or GnomeBaker. Remember to pick burn a ISO Image and not "Data DVD". Burn DVD iso image option in GnomeBaker can be found under the tools menu or in K3B you can select it at the start up screen.
Once the image is burnt to disk it will be ready to play in any DVD player.
