MSC Giz Cast Episode 31 - Web Mail with Thunderbird

In this episode we talk about how to download your e-mail from web based mail servers like Hotmail or G-Mail using Thunderbird as our e-mail client. If you are not familiar with Thunderbird it is a e-mail client for your desktop. It is a great alternative to Outlook Express on Windows. Thunderbird can also be used as a RSS reader, but in this episode we talk about how to use Thunderbird to download our e-mail from web servers like G-Mail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.

If you are not already using Thunderbird it can be found in the add/remove section or Synaptic in Ubuntu. If you are going to use it in Windows you will have to visit the Thunderbird site and download and install the application.

Once thunderbird is running we will have to install the webmail extension and then from there we select what web mail servers we are going to download the messages from and install those extensions also. I will have all the links at the bottom of the show notes and also some screen shots.

For complete details on how to use this great extension in Thunderbird download and listen to this episode of the MSC Giz Cast.
