In this episode we talk about Microsoft giving Yahoo 3 weeks to consider their offer, Apple pushing Safari as part of the Itunes update, and also that Automatix is not in development anymore. We also answer an e-mail on using Brasero over GnomeBaker in Hardy Heron.
In other e-mails I have received, listeners have been asking for more videos on just programs that I use. They would like to see more quick videos on different programs that I use and how that I use them. Also if I would consider using video to talk about more computer stuff in general. I have considered this, but it would be fairly general and would be more about everyday things and not just computers. Please send a e-mail to mscgizcast@msccomp.com with your suggestions or thoughts on this idea.
Now with no Automatix for Hardy Heron will this effect Ubuntu in any way. Automatix was always used as a way to help new Ubuntu users install programs and codecs on their computer. With Ubuntu now it gives you suggestions on which codecs you need when you go to play a audio or video clip that Automatix does not seem that necessary any more. Check out this episode to hear how I feel about Automatix and how I used it when I first started using Ubuntu.
Remember that the MSC Giz Cast now has a new e-mail address, mscgizcast@mscomp.com, and please send and suggestions or just to say Hi.
